The Royal Bank of Canada has announced the promotion of Corrie Jackson to Senior Curator, RBC Curatorial Department. In her new role, Corrie will advise on key visual arts programs and partnerships and will oversee the management and growth strategy of the RBC Corporate Art Collection.
“At RBC, we recognize that the arts are an important part of the cultural fabric of our communities,” said Matt McGlynn, Vice-President, Brand Marketing, RBC. “Corrie has played an important role in helping RBC strengthen the art landscape in Canada and enable the next generation of artists to bridge the gap from emerging to established.”
With her curatorial experience and strong interest in developing the role of collections as accountable and inclusive narratives, Corrie will use her expertise to strengthen the reputation of the RBC Art Collection as one of Canada’s leading corporate collections for Canadian Art. Recently, she oversaw the successful installation of the corporate art collection into a best-in-class facility.
“Corrie’s work over the last few years has helped make the RBC Art Collection more accessible to our clients and employees,” says Robin Anthony, RBC Curator. “I’m confident that Corrie will lead the ongoing evolution of the Curatorial Department and champion innovations that will reflect inclusion and diversity – important values shared by both RBC and Canadians.”
The RBC Art Collection includes more than 4,500 works by Canadian artists and supports RBC’s Emerging Artist Project by acquiring works by young and emerging local artists, as well as supporting the practices of Canada’s leading talent.
