The Canadian Crafts Federation is looking for input from artists as it develops a book about copyright aimed specifically at craftspeople.
"Copying and distributing creative goods has become more prevalent and easy to do and we think artists should understand copyright," says the federation, which is working on the book in conjunction with legal counsel and CARFAC, a national organization that works for artists' rights.
"You can help guide our research by sharing your copyright insights from your craft practice by completing our short survey."
To develop a book that is useful for craft artists, the federation is also gathering examples of copyright situations by interviewing practitioners.
"Our main goal is to make a complex topic easy to digest because we believe that all artists should know their rights to their creative work."
