Curatorial Residency Launches in Paris and Vancouver
A curatorial residency program that alternates annually for four years between Paris and Vancouver will launch in October with a three-month residency in Paris.
The program, launched by the Polygon Gallery and Griffin Art Projects, both in Vancouver, and Cité internationale des arts in Paris, with the support of the Embassy of France in Canada and the Canadian Cultural Centre in Paris, supports development of curatorial projects and fosters cultural exchange.
The residency includes travel funds and a furnished studio with work and living space, along with a stipend of $2,000 per month for three months and a production budget of $3,000.
It is open to Canadian curators living in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Artists and writers who have a curatorial practice are eligible.
Applicants must propose a curatorial project describing the research they intend to develop by June 18.
If COVID-19 restrictions prohibit travel in September, the residency will be postponed until early 2022.
