Daniel Becker new Director at Art Gallery of Grande Prairie

Daniel Becker is the new executive director at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie in northern Alberta.

Becker, originally from Lacombe, Alta., has focused throughout his career on continuing learning and critical examination of the arts. 

"The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie has been creating opportunities for education, engagement and entertainment," said Becker. "We will continue to ensure that our efforts are inclusive and considerate."

While studying for his master's degree in cultural heritage and museum studies at Ulster University in Belfast, Becker researched the role of arts organizations in the well-being of communities.

The gallery's previous director, Jeff Erbach, was in the director's job for five years.
