Digital Arts Program Launched in Rural Manitoba
The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba has launched a digital initiative with the help of $160,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts.
The gallery will work to improve digital literacy in rural and First Nations communities through a media arts program managed by Cecilia Araneda, an independent filmmaker born in Chile.
“Having spent the last 15 years working in the independent media arts sector in Winnipeg, I know firsthand that the time has never been better to develop a comprehensive media art and digital literacy system to reach beyond Winnipeg’s perimeter,” says Araneda.
