Eli Kerr has been selected by the Hnatyshyn Foundation for this year's Young Curator Residency at Fogo Island Arts.
Kerr is based in Montreal and focuses on art that considers the implications of technological histories within unfolding social modalities.
The six-week residency, valued at $15,000, sends an exceptional Canadian curator between the ages of 25 and 30 to work in residence at Fogo Island Arts, a contemporary art venue in Newfoundland.
This year’s selection was adjudicated by Nicolaus Schafhausen, strategic director of Fogo Island Arts, and Reesa Greenberg, an art and exhibition historian.
The Hnatyshyn Foundation is a private charity established by former governor general Ramon John Hnatyshyn to assist artists with their training and career development.
