Finalists for Kingston Prize Announced
The Kingston Prize for portraiture has announced the 30 finalists in this year's contest, chosen by a three-member jury from nearly 350 entries from across Canada.
The prize exhibition will be held from Oct. 6 to Oct. 28 at the Firehall Theatre in Gananoque, Ont.
The Kingston Prize of $20,000, and two honourable mention awards of $2,000 each will be announced at an Oct. 13 reception at the theatre.
The jury is composed of Alicia Boutilier, chief curator at the Agnes Etherington Art Gallery at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont.; Annie Gérin, dean of fine arts at Concordia University in Montreal; and artist Gordon Shadrach, an assistant professor at OCAD University in Toronto.
