Gabrielle Peacock to Head Gardiner Museum
Gabrielle Peacock has been appointed executive director and CEO of the Gardiner Museum in Toronto. She will start at the ceramics museum in February.
Peacock, currently director of partnerships and development at Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto, was the CEO of the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, Ont., from 2010 to 2015.
She succeeds Kelvin Browne, who has been at the Gardiner for nine years.
Board chair James Appleyard said Peacock has more than 30 years of experience as an arts administrator.
"Throughout her career, Gabrielle has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing social justice, gender equity and community engagement goals," he said.
The Gardiner has a collection of over 4,000 objects from the Americas, Europe, Japan and China, as well as contemporary works with an emphasis on leading Canadian artists. For information, go here.
