The Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA) has announced the finalists for the 2023-2024 Alberta Magazine Awards.
And two Galleries West contributors are on the list of nominees.
Sarah Swan
Regular contributor Sarah Swan has been nominated in the Essay category for her story, The Good, the Bad and the Morally Ambiguous, which was published Dec. 18, 2023.
An arts writer based in Yellowknife, Swan won gold at the 2023 Alberta Magazine Awards for an essay she wrote for Galleries West magazine entitled, You Want it Darker?.
Joseph Paris
And former Galleries West intern Joseph Paris has been nominated in the Emerging Writer category for his story, Revisiting a Loaded History, which was published March 13, 2023.
Paris and Swan are two of 112 finalists in 16 categories. Winners will be announced at the Alberta Magazine Awards Gala on Sept. 26 in Calgary. Congratulations to Swan, Paris and all the nominees. ■
