Galleries West is seeking candidates for a paid editorial internship starting in March.
The ideal candidate will combine recent post-secondary education and knowledge of the visual arts in Canada with experience in editing, journalism and critical writing.
"It's a great opportunity for the right person to polish their skills in the face-paced digital publishing arena," says Portia Priegert, the magazine's editor. "The position functions on a remote work basis, so we're looking for a keen self-starter who is open to mentoring and is able to juggle multiple tasks."
The position is 20 hours per week for six months.
Duties will include:
- Editing and proofreading
- Writing news articles
- Reviewing exhibitions
- Obtaining digital images and copyright clearances
- Responding to emails
- Assisting on other tasks, as required
