Gallery To Close Victoria Location
Edmonton location prepares to celebrate 50 years
After 30 years of contributing to a vibrant B.C. arts scene, the West End Gallery is closing its Victoria, B.C. location.
The Edmonton location — which opened in 1975 and will mark its 50th anniversary in 2025 — will remain open.
The Victoria location's final Annual Garden Collection exhibition is on now through April 27, the final day of operation.
Dan and Lana Hudon opened the Edmonton gallery in 1975, and their two sons grew up in the gallery’s milieu, including the opening of the second location in Victoria three decades ago. In 2005, Matthew Hudon, the youngest of the two boys, joined the gallery and has played a major role in its development.
They sell works by a lengthy list of artists including Allen Sapp, Steve R. Coffey, Richard Cole, Madison Hart, Irene Klar, Patricia Johnston, Bob Leatherbarrow and Peter Shostak.
“We sincerely hope you will stop by and share some fond memories of our time in Victoria,” the Hudon family family said in a statement.
“Thank you for continuing to be part of our story. Here’s to continuing this remarkable journey, filled with more art, inspiration and the deep, enduring connections that art brings to our lives.”
