Human Rights Museum Plans New Events
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg has launched Friday Night Rights, a new initiative that offers reduced admissions and special programs.
The museum will now be open every Friday night, with free admission after 5 p.m. on the first Friday of each month and $5 admission every other Friday night.
Visitors can catch up with friends over dinner and drinks, browse in the museum's boutique, explore the exhibits and attend special programs, including music and live performances.
The first free Friday saw local artist Kal Barteski create a painting depicting Winnipeg's skyline, accompanied by music from an onsite DJ.
On other Friday nights, the $5 admission includes a behind-the-scenes guided tour. Tours depart at 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in English and at 6 p.m. in French.
On Nov. 29, the museum will feature artists from the Graffiti Gallery and ArtsJunktion, who will engage visitors in craft workshops with recycled or reclaimed materials.
The museum will no longer be open on Wednesday nights.
