Jennifer Cane to Lead Burnaby Art Gallery
The Burnaby Art Gallery in B.C.'s Lower Mainland has appointed Jennifer Cane as its new director and curator.
Cane has worked as the gallery’s assistant curator since 2011, and co-curated the award-winning and nationally touring exhibition Anna Wong: Traveller on Two Roads.
“I care about the gallery deeply and hope to serve its communities by sharing space, taking risks and working with staff and the advisory committee to create exciting opportunities for art-centred learning,” said Cane.
She holds a Master's degree in art history from UBC and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art history from Concordia University in Montreal.
Ellen van Eijnsbergen, who has served as director and curator since 2013, retired last month.
