Instant Coffee, "Feeling So Much Yet Doing So Little" Various materials and events, curated by Caitlin Jones, The Western Front, Vancouver, BC 2012
This fall, October 31 to November 8, the Kamloops Art Gallery will host Luminocity, a week-long public art project featuring video projection and new media works in public spaces throughout the downtown core of Kamloops. Inspired by public art events such as Nuit Blanche, this will be the KAG’s inaugural presentation with videos screening in storefronts, in the windows of the TNRD building and the Old Courthouse building. Site specific installations will also be on view at Riverside Park.
Known for exploding the social scene in Vancouver with their Light Bar, Instant Coffee will activate Kamloops through their installations and event-based activities throughout the week-long event. Instant Coffee’s programming allows the social, speculative and actual to play an essential role in the celebration of our past and prospective future.
In preparation for this event, Instant Coffee will be visiting Kamloops this weekend to meet local artists and get a sense of the city as a whole. Join us in our Tricia Sellmer and Ken Lepin studios this Saturday, April 12 at 4:30 pm to meet the artists and learn more about their collaborative practice.
