Kamloops Art Gallery Appoints Interim Curator
The Kamloops Art Gallery Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Adrienne Fast as Interim Curator of the Kamloops Art Gallery, effective December 12, 2016 to January 2018.
Adrienne Fast joins the Gallery following a national search. She steps into the role for the next year to take over for Curator Charo Neville who is off on maternity leave shortly. Fast brings a significant background to the role, having received her PhD in Art History and Theory from the University of British Columbia in 2015. She has worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Western Washington and a teaching assistant at UBC. Most recently, we worked as an assistant curator at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
“Adrienne impressed us with her commitment to artists in BC and her experience working with collections and artists at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Her particular interest in printmaking and South Asian art provide us with a unique opportunity to share this expertise with our community,” says Executive Director Margaret Chrumka.
In her role as Interim Curator, Fast will oversee the year’s upcoming exhibitions and programs, and will work to curate a summer exhibition along with an exhibition opening January 2018.
“I am honoured to be taking on the Interim Curator position at the KAG,” says Fast. “The Gallery is such a vibrant and exciting centre for the arts, and I am thrilled to be able to contribute to the schedule of exhibitions and programs planned for 2017.”
