It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Keith Wood on May 1, 2018. Keith died peacefully, with his family by his side, due to complications from a stroke on April 25. Keith leaves to cherish his memory Marjorie Wood, daughter Shira (Graeme), son Eric (Danica), grandchildren, Connor and Ashlinn Collison and Thelonious Wood, sister Anne Brown (Frank) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Eric Wood, stepfather Creighton Walters and mother Elizabeth Walters. Keith was born in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia and spent his early years in Dartmouth and Halifax. He was a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, where he was the recipient of the Donald C. McKay Award and subsequently a sessional instructor. Keith made Winnipeg his home in the late 1960s. He worked as a graphic artist and founded an advertising agency before pursuing his true passion and calling as a visual artist. For Keith life was art and art was life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at his studio at 80 Lombard - 4th Floor. In lieu of flowers, it would please Keith to have donations made to Artbeat Studio.
