Lacey Prize for Artist-Run Centres
The National Gallery of Canada is calling for nominations for a new art award, the Lacey Prize, which recognizes artist-run centres and other small arts organizations.
Created courtesy of a $1.3-million gift from Calgary's John Lacey and his late wife, Naomi, it will offer up to $90,000 in prize money every two years.
A top prize of $50,000 will be awarded along with two prizes of $20,000.
In recognition of the gift, the National Gallery has named a room after the donors.
Nominations are open until Aug. 30. The winners will be selected by an independent jury and announced in late November.
