Lind Prize Winner Announced
Christopher Lacroix is the winner of the Philip B. Lind Emerging Artist Prize at the Polygon Gallery.
Lacroix, from the University of British Columbia, presented a two-panel HD video and digital vinyl print, Sometimes It’s Hard to Tell Where It’s Coming From.
The prize is $5,000 to help produce a new project, to be featured at at the Polygon in 2019.
Honorable mentions go to runners-up Matthew Wong, from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and Ramey Newell, from the University of British Columbia.
The Lind prize has been awarded since 2016 to a university student working in film, photography or video.
This year, more than 30 emerging artists were nominated. A jury of artists and curators chose the nine finalists.
