Métis App Launched for Louis Riel Day
A new app that explores the heritage of the Métis people in Manitoba includes 40 sites about history, culture and the struggle for rights.
The free app was developed through a partnership between the Louis Riel Institute, the Manitoba Métis Federation and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
It was 150 years ago, in 1869, that the famous Red River Resistance began and a provisional government was established under Métis leader Louis Riel. This year also marks 175 years since Riel's birth.
