MacKenzie Art Gallery to Charge Admission
If you want to see the art at Regina's MacKenzie Art Gallery after June 10 – and you're an adult – you'll have to pay $10 or buy a membership.
The MacKenzie announced the change to a paid admissions system as part of what it calls calls a "simplified and enhanced" membership program.
Admissions will continue to be complimentary for members. The cost for non-members will be $10, with individuals 17 and under admitted for free.
Admission fees will apply to the gallery's second floor only. The main floor, which houses a café, shop, theatre and community program space, will remain free.
Basic memberships for individuals will be $30 and a double membership $55.
“This change will allow us to expand our programming, including new and diverse exhibitions, and introduce more events and programs promoting and supporting art and artists,” says Anthony Kiendl, the gallery's executive director.
