Major Donation to Red Deer Art Gallery
The Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery has received a donation of 190 works from Dave More, a painter in Central Alberta.
His works present his impressions of the world around him: the landscape, the people, the gardens, as well as impressions of other places that he has visited such as New Brunswick and India.
Lorna Johnson, the executive director, said More is an important regional painter whose gift sets a foundation to develop the institution's art collection.
Dave More: A Painter’s Gift, an exhibition of key works, will open in October. It is organized by guest curator Mary-Beth Laviolette.
