National Gallery of Canada Appoints New Photo Curator
Andrea Kunard has been promoted to senior curator of photographs at the National Gallery of Canada.
She had been the associate curator of photographs at the gallery since 2009.
Kunard has organized major exhibitions, including Moyra Davey: The Faithful, Photography in Canada 1960-2000, and the virtual exhibition, Photostories Canada.
She will focus on digitization, reaching new audiences and building a more diverse and accessible collection.
Kunard. who has a PhD in art history from Queen’s University in Kingston, has been an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa since 2013.
