New Curator at Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba
The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba is hiring Alyssa Fearon as curator.
Fearon is at the forefront of an emerging trend in galleries to increase engagement and collaboration with the community, says John Hampton, the gallery's executive director.
“Alyssa brings an impressive skill-set and passion to the gallery. I am confident will build on our momentum and help make the goals set out in our strategic plan a reality. She has a nuanced and insightful understanding of artistic practices and trends, a strong business acumen, and a kind and open demeanor."
Fearon is the curator of Nuit Blanche Toronto’s inaugural Scarborough zone, and has held positions at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Independent Curators International and the City of Toronto.
She holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and an MA in art history from York University.
