New Director at Griffin Art Projects in North Vancouver
Lisa Baldissera has been appointed director of Griffin Art Projects in North Vancouver.
Baldissera has almost 20 years of curatorial experience, starting at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, and has produced over 50 exhibitions of contemporary and modern art.
In her subsequent position as chief curator at the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon, she assisted with a major Picasso linocut acquisition and the transition to the Remai Modern.
Baldissera, who is completing a PhD at Goldsmiths, University of London, says she is pleased to work for Griffin, a new player in the West Coast contemporary art scene.
She succeeds Lee Plested, who has led the Griffin since 2015. Plested will now coordinate the organization's residency program.
