New Generation Photography Award Long List
Six young artists from Western Canada are among the 23 named to the long list for the New Generation Photography Award.
They are Hannah Doucet and Luther Konadu, both of Winnipeg; Andrew Godsalve, of Hinton, Alta.; Anna Kasko and Graeme Wahn, both of Vancouver; and Matthew Wong, of Surrey, B.C.

The award is offered in partnership with the Canadian Photography Institute of the National Gallery of Canada.
The long list was selected by a 12-member nomination committee that included members of the arts community, including photography experts from universities and colleges across Canada.
Three recipients will be selected from the long list by the award’s jury, which consists of Ann Thomas, interim chief curator of the National Gallery of Canada; artists Angela Grauerholz and Deanna Pizzitelli; and independent curator Erandy Vergara.
Each winner receives a cash prize of $10,000 and is featured in a group exhibition at the Gladstone Hotel, during the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival in Toronto. A second exhibition will follow in September at the Canadian Photography Institute PhotoLab, located at the National Gallery.
