New Location for Herringer Kiss Gallery
Calgary's Herringer Kiss Gallery is moving.
After 16 years in business, including 10 years in its current space, the gallery has outgrown its premises. Renovations are almost complete at the new location at 101-1615 10 Ave. S.W.
The new space is 70 per cent larger which will allow Herringer Kiss to bring in new artists and expand programming to include guest artists and guest curators, as well as special themed exhibitions.
The new location, in the Sunalta neighbourhood, has free street parking and is less than a block from the LRT.
The grand opening is Thursday, Oct. 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The inaugural exhibition, Sampler 2018, pays homage to the gallery's first-ever exhibition in 2002. It includes work by sculptor Blake Senini, a new addition to Herringer Kiss.
The Calgary sculptor was born in 1954 on Vancouver Island. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria in 1975 and his Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary in 1981.
He has received numerous awards and has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally, for over 40 years.
