November Paynter and Rachel Hilton Assume Leadership of MOCA Toronto
Heidi Reitmaier has resigned as executive director and CEO of the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto, effective Jan. 25.
She will join the Art Gallery of Ontario as deputy director and the head of public programming and learning.
A renewed and expanded MOCA Toronto was successfully launched in the historic Tower Automotive Building on Sept. 22. It has since welcomed some 30,000 visitors.
“The new vision for MOCA has finally been brought to life,” said Julia Ouellette, the board's chair. “We thank Heidi for her work and wish her well.”
MOCA’s senior management team of November Paynter and Rachel Hilton will assume joint leadership as artistic director and managing director, respectively.
Paynter joined MOCA in 2017 from her position as associate director of research and programs at SALT, Istanbul and Ankara.
Hilton joined MOCA in 2018. She has held leadership roles in marketing, audience development and corporate fundraising for leading arts and culture organizations.
