Katerina Atanassova is the new curator of Canadian art at the National Gallery of Canada. She replaces Charlie Hill, who held the post for years. Atanassova was chief curator at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ont., and co-curated Painting Canada: Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven, organized by London’s Dulwich Picture Gallery and the National Gallery of Canada.
Janice Price takes over as the president of The Banff Centre on March 16. She comes from Toronto’s Luminato Festival, which she has led since its inception in 2006.
Michael Audain, former chairman of the Vancouver Art Gallery, has become the gallery’s first honorary chairman – a lifetime position that recognizes distinguished contributions.
