Regina's MacKenzie Gallery Appoints Two Digital Coordinators
The MacKenzie Art Gallery has appointed artists Cat Bluemke and Jonathan Carroll as digital coordinators.
They will lead creation of a new digital lab and digital arts training initiative at the gallery over the next two years. It will include public events and education sessions, as well as a mobile media lab to deliver digital arts training in rural Saskatchewan.
The initiative is funded through the Canada Council's digital strategy fund.
Bluemke and Carroll use game design, performance and expanded reality technologies to explore the relationship of work and play. Collaborators since 2013, they have exhibited internationally at venues such as the Venice Architecture Biennale and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
