Remai Appoints Interim CEO

Lynn McMaster, interim director of the Remai Modern

Lynn McMaster, a museum administrator with 30 years of experience in the cultural and education sectors, is the Remai Modern’s interim CEO, effective immediately.

Originally from Regina, McMaster was most recently CEO at the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. She has held leadership roles at the Canadian Museum of History and its affiliate, the Canadian Children’s Museum.

“Lynn is uniquely qualified to lead Remai Modern through this transition phase," said Beau Atkins, interim board chair. "She has experience navigating organizations through big changes and has a wealth of fiscal, strategic, team building and business development knowledge specific to the museum sector.” 

At Please Touch, McMaster served as interim CEO in 2013 and held the role of president and CEO from 2014 to 2016. 

At the Remai, McMaster joins interim chief operating officer Celene Anger, who started in February.

McMaster holds a B.Ed major in art education from the University of Regina and began her career as an art educator.
