Remai Modern Announces Inaugural Indigenous Art Curator
The Remai Modern has hired Tarah Hogue as its inaugural curator of Indigenous art.
Hogue was most recently the inaugural senior curatorial fellow of Indigenous art at the Vancouver Art Gallery and in September will also take on a new role of Indigenous advisor there.
Hogue will commence her role at the Remai Modern in October.
Hogue, originally from Red Deer, is a citizen of the Métis Nation of Alberta with Dutch and French-Canadian ancestry. She holds a Masters degree in critical and curatorial studies from the University of British Columbia.
She was the 2016 Audain Aboriginal Curatorial Fellow at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, and curator-in-residence at the grunt gallery in Vancouver from 2014 to 2017.
