A new film project highlights the continuing artistic and cultural impact of the late Jean Paul Riopelle.
The Riopelle Short Films project includes five shorts directed by recent graduates of the Institut national de l’image et du son in Montreal.
The films will premiere in Montreal as part of the International Festival of Films on Art, from March 14 to March 26, and online, from March 24 to April 2, to mark the 100th anniversary of Riopelle's birth.
The project is funded by the Jean Paul Riopelle Foundation and the Audain Foundation.
The five films are: Of painting, my bones became dust, by Laetitia Demessence; Dander, by Héloïse Bargain; Movimentum, by Anaïs Venegas-Grün; Riopelle was non-binary, by Aimé Majeau Beauchamp; and Lyrical Kaleidoscope, by Jonathan Goyette.
