Sanaa Humayun to Lead The New Gallery in Calgary

Sanaa Humayun

The New Gallery, an artist-run centre in Calgary, is welcoming Sanaa Humayun as its new director. 

Humayun was the gallery's programming coordinator and has experience with community organizing. 

Along with Kiona Callihoo Ligtvoet, Humayun organizes Making Space, a peer mentorship group for early-career BIPOC artists.

"I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of TNG’s team since September, and in this time I’ve seen the care, thoughtfulness and ongoing commitment to learning that artists, staff, volunteers and community members engage with in this space," said Humayun. 

"I am so excited to work with our team and board with this foundation of knowledge to continue to grow and change our space as the needs of our communities shift."
