Global Affairs Canada, a department of the Canadian government, manages Canada's diplomatic and consular relations. Curator Kerry Goodfellow, who oversees the department's art collection, visited Saskatchewan in February to find work by regional artists. She contacted the Saskatchewan Craft Council and commercial galleries, requesting pieces in various media that are distinctive, sizeable and non-functional.
Other selected artists include Zane Wilcox, through the Slate Fine Art Gallery, and Martha Cole, through the Assiniboia Gallery.
