The 28th annual ScotiaBank CONTACT Photography Festival highlights have been announced.
The festival will take place throughout Toronto in May 2024 and will feature more than 150 exhibitions from more than 60 artists and photographers from across North America and around the world.
The exhibitions will be held at museums, galleries and public spaces and will explore topics that include “anti-colonial practices, community building, Afro-futurism, crip liberation, ceremony and revolution, and personal and collective memory, addressing violent gaps in historical archives,” according to the news release.
Registration for the 2024 festival is still open for photographers, both emerging and experienced. The deadline to apply is Jan. 15, 2024.
Participating galleries include CONTACT Gallery, BAND Gallery at Meridian Arts Centre, Gallery 44, The Image Centre, Gallery TPW, Trinity Square Video and more.
