Sobey 2019 Short List Announced
Anne Low , who showed earlier this year at the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver, is one of five finalists for this year's Sobey Art Award, given to Canadian artists who are 40 and under.
Others on the short list are Inuvialuk artist Kablusiak, who was born in Yellowknife and is now based in Calgary; D’Arcy Wilson, who is based in Corner Brook, Nfld.; Montreal artist Nicolas Grenier; and Toronto artist Stephanie Comilang.
The winner will take home $100,000. The four finalists each receive $25,000. All five will be included in a group exhibition at the Art Gallery of Alberta in the fall.
The winner will be announced Nov. 15.
