Stephen Borys, the director of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, is receiving the Order of Manitoba, the province's highest official honour.
The announcement was made by Janice Filmon, the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba.
The honour recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement that benefits in an outstanding way the social, cultural or economic well-being of Manitoba and its residents.
Borys has headed the gallery since 2008.
