Steven McNeil Joins Curatorial Team at Art Gallery of Greater Victoria
Steven McNeil has joined the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria as the curator of Canadian and historical art.
McNeil, a specialist in Canadian art of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, has held curatorial positions at the University of Toronto, the National Capital Commission and the National Gallery of Canada.
He has worked on various exhibitions and installations focused on historical Canadian art, including Emily Carr: New Perspectives on a Canadian Icon, organized by the National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery, and installations of art and historical artifacts at Rideau Hall.
McNeil holds a master's degree in Canadian art history from Carleton University in Ottawa and a bachelor's degree in Canadian history from the University of New Brunswick.
