There are nine awards, five selected by jurors and three by public vote. Winners will be announced at a gala on Oct. 19.
Prizes include the $20,000 Joan McConnell Award, and four jurors' choice awards of $3,000 apiece. The three people's choice awards are worth $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000. As well, one Salt Spring artist will receive $2,000.
