People Among the People: The Public Art of Susan Point is one of five finalists for the City of Vancouver Book Award.
The book, by Robert D. Watt with Susan Point, was published by Figure 1 with the Museum of Anthropology at UBC. It makes visible the Coast Salish art style and the monumental public art of renowned Musqueam artist Susan Point.
The other finalists cover a range of genres from poetry, short-stories and true crime to young adult fiction. They are Philip Huynh for The Forbidden Purple City; Eve Lazarus for Murder by Milkshake: An Astonishing True Story of Adultery, Arsenic and a Charismatic Killer; Susin Nielsen for No Fixed Address; and Shazia Hafiz Ramji for Port of Being.
They were chosen by an independent jury.
