Tak Pham Named Curator of Calgary's Illingworth Kerr Gallery
Tak Pham starts a new job as curator of the Illingworth Kerr Gallery at the Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary on Aug. 1.
He comes from the MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina, where he has been associate curator.
Pham, who has an MFA in criticism and curatorial practice from OCAD University in Toronto, is researching immersive experiences in contemporary art.
He has organized exhibitions and curatorial projects for Contemporary Calgary, the Confederation Centre Art Gallery in Charlottetown, the Art Gallery of Ontario and Nuit Blanche Toronto.
His writing has been published in various art magazines, including Galleries West, Canadian Art, C Magazine, Studio Magazine, ArtAsiaPacific and Hyperallergic.
In 2023, he received the Hnatyshyn Foundation's Fogo Island Arts residency for young curators.
