The Burrard Arts Foundation ends exhibitions
The Burrard Arts Foundation is closing its Vancouver exhibition space Oct. 28. “The organization’s leadership has made the difficult decision to suspend its core non-profit arts programming on October 28th, 2023, taking a hiatus to re-evaluate the organization’s future,” the foundation said in a news release. Since the beginning of the foundation in 2013, the organization has produced and supported more than 50 artist residencies, 115 exhibitions, and 28 public art projects. The organization has largely focused on promoting the work of emerging artists, providing them with studio space, materials, financial assistance and professional development resources. Although the organization will not maintain a dedicated gallery space, the foundation’s online presence will continue to serve as a resource and an archive of their past programming.
