The Reach Receives Provincial Award
The Reach Gallery Museum in Abbotsford, B.C., has received an award for excellence in exhibitions from the B.C. Museums Association for Grand Theft Terra Firma, an exhibition by artists David Campion and Sandra Shields.
The show combines popular culture with original source material to consider colonization specific to the experiences in S’ólh Téméxw, now commonly known as the Fraser Valley.

The association's annual awards recognize institutions and individuals who exemplify excellence in the province’s museums, galleries and history community.
The Nikkei National Museum in Greater Vancouver received an award for excellence in community engagement for programming, exhibits and publications marking the 75th anniversary of Japanese Canadian internment and the 30th anniversary of Japanese Canadian redress.
Another winner was the Mayne Island Museum, honoured for preserving more than 300 historical images of Mayne Island that are now available online.
Individuals recognized for their contributions included Marl Brown, the curator of the Fort Nelson Heritage Museum; Sherri Robinson, a volunteer at the Esquimalt Municipal Archives; and Rachael Bell-Irving, the curriculum programs coordinator at Ocean Wise.
