The Works Art & Design Festival, which runs July 8 to July 17, is teaming up with the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival for performances and visual arts projects in downtown Edmonton.
“We are very excited to be working together," says Paul Bezaire, the director of StreetFest. "This feels like a natural collaboration."
While mindful that the continuing pandemic raises special concerns with large gatherings, Amber Rooke, artistic director of The Works, says the the event, centred at Sir Winston Churchill Square, will be safe yet playful.
"Rising to the challenges of 2022, we are collaborating to offer the expansive program we have all been craving," says Rooke. "We are so fortunate to have a solid working relationship that will translate to an event that realizes our shared vision of strengthening community through art."
The Works attracts artists and designers from around the world, and features exhibits, large-scale installations, multi-disciplinary performances, demonstrations and workshops.
