Trans Pride Flag Ripped Down Three Times at Kelowna Art Gallery
A man has been charged with ripping down a trans pride flag raised for Pride Month outside the Kelowna Art Gallery in the B.C. Interior, while investigations continue into two subsequent incidents.
Kelowna RCMP say a suspect in the May 31 incident turned himself in on July 6, after they released video surveillance of the incident. He was arrested, charged and released. His identity has not been made public.
The two later incidents occurred June 17 and July 1.
The gallery is vowing to continue flying the flag, which was displayed along with a rainbow pride flag.
"We'll put a bigger flag, and we'll hang it higher so people can't pull it down," the gallery's director, Natalie Nagy, told CBC News.
