Two Welcomes and a Goodbye
Tyler Russell, Yun-Jou Chang and Godfre Leung
Yun-Jou Chang and Godfre Leung are joining Centre A in Vancouver in the roles of interim executive director and curator, respectively.
They replace Tyler Russell, who moves to a new role as executive director of the Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna, B.C.
Yun-Jou Chang is a writer, translator, project administrator and community engagement specialist. Rooted in grassroots organizing, with a background in literature and social sciences, she is drawn to language, literature, the stories that we tell and how they inform our ability to connect with one another and build community.
Godfre Leung is a Vancouver-based curator, critic and art historian. He holds a PhD in visual and cultural studies from the University of Rochester. Prior to joining Centre A, he was associate professor of art history at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where he taught courses in modern and contemporary art, and curatorial studies. Since arriving in Vancouver in 2017, he has been a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia. Leung specializes in postwar and contemporary art, with emphases on transnational circulation and sound.
