University of Alberta Museums Art Collection Adds 19 Works by 19 Artists

The University of Alberta Museums Art Collection has added 19 new works of art by 19 artists.
They are part of the the exhibition, On Becoming: New Acquisitions from the University of Alberta Museums Art Collection, on view now through Jan. 25, 2025.
The new additions are specifically focused on Indigenous artists and include artists who are both established and new to the collection. Most works of art are on view for the first time.
Artists include 2023 Sobey Art Award winner Kablusiak, Alex Janvier, Daphne Odjig, Joi T. Arcand, Shuvinai Ashoona, Jack Damer, Wally Dion, Braxton Garneau, Liz Ingram, Helen Kalvak, George Littlechild, Jim Logan, Charles Pachter, Jane Ash Poitras, Frank Shebageget, Heather Shillinglaw, Roger Silvester, Ernestine Tahedl and Takeshi Takano.
