Unveiling of Imperial’s prominent Canadian art donation, including Harris’ "Billboard Jazz," to the National Gallery of Canada
On March 23rd Imperial will unveil its donation of five paintings by prominent Canadian artists to the National Gallery of Canada (NGC), in honour of the country’s sesquicentennial celebration. These paintings are part of the company’s largest ever philanthropic art donation which also includes gifts to 15 Canadian galleries.
The selected works by Lawren S. Harris (1885-1970), Paul Peel (1860-1892), Prudence Heward (1892-1947), Kathleen M. Morris (1893-1986) and A.J. Casson (1898-1992) recently entered the Gallery’s national collection of Later Canadian Art.
