Vancouver’s Winsor Gallery and Gallery Jones co-locate in heart of The Flats
Jennifer Winsor and principals of Gallery Jones
Winsor Gallery and Gallery Jones, two of Vancouver’s leading contemporary art galleries, have announced they will co-locate at 258 E 1st Avenue. Originally the home of Winsor Gallery, the space will be converted into two separate galleries that will be open to each other so visitors can easily access both spaces. The location is in the heart of The Flats, Vancouver’s art district that is home to more than 15 of the city’s most prestigious, experimental and critically acclaimed contemporary galleries.
“We have long been admirers of Gallery Jones and we’re thrilled to have them moving into our art district and working more closely with them,” says gallery owner Jennifer Winsor. “This not only benefits Winsor Gallery’s patrons but it also gives our artists a wider reach and makes The Flats an even more desirable destination.”
“We are very excited to be moving to The Flats neighbourhood,” says Shane O’Brien, co-owner of Gallery Jones. “To be geographically in the heart of The Flats will allow us to maximize our contribution to and participation in the visual art culture of Vancouver.”
Between them the galleries represent numerous important artists including Danny Singer, Brendan Tang, James Nizam, Ross Penhall, the Estate of Peter Aspell, Dana Claxton, Angela Grossman, Paul Wong and Fiona Ackerman.
The renovation and move will be complete in early November with both galleries having an opening event on Saturday, November 21, 2015.
First Joint Opening: Saturday, November 21, 2:00 to 5:00 pm
