Vancouver Art Book Fair 2017
The Vancouver Art Book Fair will hold its seventh annual fair at the Emily Carr University of Art + Design from Oct. 18 to Oct. 21. The deadline for exhibitor submissions is April 15.
The fair showcases dozens of local and international exhibitors who produce everything from books, magazines, zines and printed ephemera to digital, performative or other experimental forms of publication.
Artists' projects and reading rooms will activate the Michael O’Brian Exhibition Commons and Ron Burnett Library + Learning Commons at the Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Hourly artist talks and performances will take place in the Artists’ Book Room and the Reliance Theatre. The fair, free and open to the public, is expected to attract some 6,000 visitors. The website will launch in May.
The Vancouver Art Book Fair operates year-round as a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing Vancouver as a centre for artists' publishing. In addition to the fair, its main projects are monthly open studio events, a library and archive project and other publishing and curatorial projects.
